To send a postal product (letter, registered letter, parcel etc.) we used to go to the post, sign the shipping form and deliver everything to the employee, sometimes losing even several hours of waiting at the post (especially in the first days of the month). From today all this is no longer necessary: we can send most of the postal products without leaving home, using the PC to write the content of the message; in the case of parcels we can prepare the waybill already online and proceed only to delivery to the post or wait for the postman for the scheduled collection (for lighter parcels).

How to send online on the Italian Post Office website
To ship online, we must first go to the Italian Post Office website reserved for online shipments; the site can be reached here -> Ship online with Poste Italiane .
In the page that will open, let's go to the Products tab in order to view the postal products that we can ship online.
We can currently ship the following products online:
- Letter : a simple letter, to be written on the PC and then printed and sent by the Post Office.
We can choose whether to use the Posta1online (1 working day) or Posta4online (4 working days) service for delivery, with the outcome of the shipment (only for Posta1online).
We can ship in Italy and abroad, with two-sided or color printing, so as to adapt the letter to our needs.
The cost starts from € 1.12 to go up (by number of sheets, chosen service etc.).
- Registered letter: if we want to send a registered letter, this is the best service.
We write the contents of the registered letter on the PC, attach any type of document to it and send, it will be up to the post office to print it and deliver it to the recipient's address.
This registered letter has legal value (digitally signed and temporally marked by Poste), it can be sent in Italy or abroad and can also be collected online by the recipient if it is registered with Poste Italiane and has registered the service to obtain the registered letter online.
The cost starts from 3.5 € to go up (for the number of sheets and documents attached, weight etc.).
- Telegram : a message must arrive immediately "> Italian Post Office Registration .
We insert all the required personal data, provide the required security information and complete the registration.
From now on we will be able to send parcels and registered mail online using one of the services offered by the post office (Postepay or BancoPosta account) or alternatively using any credit card (prepaid cards from other banking services are also fine, as long as support Visa or Mastercard circuits).
Send online from the Poste Italiane app
If we don't have a PC at hand, we can use the Post Office app to send our message online.
We download the Poste Italiane app from one of the links here -> Post Office (Android) and Post Office (iOS).
Once the app has been downloaded, open it and, in the main screen, click on registered letter, telegram or letter to choose the type of service to be used.
Once the service has been chosen, the app will ask us for the access credentials for the Italian Post Office website.
We insert the credentials created on the site and we will be immediately redirected to the screen where to type the text of the message and then the sender and the recipient of the same.
The prices applied are the same that can be used on the site and the exploitable payment methods are also identical: from credit cards to banking services offered by the Italian Post Office (Postepay and BancoPosta).
Book delivery to the postman
Another service of Poste Italiane that we can take advantage of online is Recommended by You, which allows us to book the arrival of a postman in charge of collecting the envelope with the registered letter; the postman will frank it and deliver it to the nearest post office, ready to arrive at its destination.
To book the arrival of a postman we reach the Web page available here -> Poste Italiane Online Services .
Enter in the field Recommended Service for you and select the post code of your city, then click on the bottom of Send .
If the service is available in your area you will now receive a complete summary of the times when it can be used, we will only have to confirm by pressing on Contact form and book the postman's arrival time.
