Clear the history of the sites on Internet Explorer completely

When you open the browser to browse the websites, Internet Explorer, it turns out that, by trying to type an internet address in the bar at the top or by trying to search on Google or Bing through the box at the top right, there are suggestions taken from the history of sites visited in the past.
Browsing history can be a great way to navigate faster but, in the case of shared computers, it can become a problem.
What you don't want is for other people to see the websites I visited yesterday or a week ago.
I wanted to focus the discussion on Internet Explorer (IE7 and IE8), on this occasion, because a strange thing happens on this web browser: even if IE's web history is cleared, some previously visited sites continue to appear in the address bar for the automatic completion.
So, taking a step back, to clear the history of Internet explorer and delete all visible data from previous browsed online, you need to go to the Tools menu, access the options and, from the main tab, press the " delete " button in the " Browsing history "and, after selecting everything, press" Delete "again.
To eliminate any trace completely, however, you have to do it in another way.
You must necessarily close each Internet Explorer window, access the Control Panel, go to the Internet options and proceed as mentioned above.
This will allow you to delete all temporary files, cookies, saved passwords and so on.
Should this procedure be necessary every time, it is advisable to set the automatic deletion of the history by placing, in the general option tab, the cross where it says " Delete the history when leaving ".
In the Advanced tab you must also check that there is the flag under " Empty the temporary internet files folder when closing the browser ", under the " security " section.
Alternatively, on Internet Explorer 8, you can browse privately on the internet so as not to store any history and browse without leaving traces.
External programs can also be used to erase all browsing history on Internet Explorer .
3. Run the applications
One of these is the famous Ccleaner that I have repeatedly mentioned and described as the best Windows temporary and obsolete file cleaner and also eliminates the index.dat file.
Other programs suggested in the past are those for erasing the traces and history of what is being done on the PC.
The most recent versions of Internet Explorer 7 and 8 have the "intelligent" address bar which auto-completes itself based on the most popular and previously visited websites that are in the cache.
To eliminate the sites that have been visited from these suggestions, simply emptying the browsing history.
In fact, some of the URLs of websites that have been browsed in the past still appear in the drop-down menu, even eliminating traces and history with programs such as Ccleaner.
The particular issue is that the address bar in Internet Explorer can be integrated with the Windows desktop search, so even if IE history is cleared, those web entries that are stored in the general Windows search index appear yet.
To prevent items from the Windows search web history from appearing in the tips in Internet Explorer, you have to go to the Tools menu -> Internet Options -> Content -> AutoComplete and clear the option that says " Use Windows Search for best results. ".
Finally, a tip for the more experienced: if you want to delete only some sites from the history, without emptying it completely, you can go to work in the registry.
Then go to the Start menu, Run and type the word regedit .
Navigate the path to the key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ TypedURLs
From here, delete the internet addresses one by one or all, but be careful of the numbering that must remain consecutive (url1, url2 ...).
