Lock Chrome with password to protect private data

One of the most personal and most private things on a computer is certainly the browser used to surf the internet.
By spying on someone's browser, in fact, it is possible not only to see his private data such as favorite sites, the sites you visited first (from the history) and then, if you use the Google password manager, he can also enter into the personal accounts of Facebook or email.
In essence, protecting the browser is a must-do thing that can be done in several ways:
- By creating two or more accounts on the Windows PC.
- By letting guests or other computer users navigate from a different browser than we use.
- With Chrome, user profiles can be used which can become the simplest solution.
Chrome has a very effective and simple profile management made in such a way that if other people use the computer it is possible to prevent them from peeking into the favorites and history of our reserved profile .
The only requirement is that the person who wants to block access to their profile in Chrome uses a Google Account for Chrome.
To do this, press the profile button at the top right, the one next to the window's closing and minimizing buttons.

To block access to the reserved profile in Chrome, simply press on your image at the top right, next to the button with three dots, and then press on Exit and Block .
Note that closing Chrome simply by pressing on the X will not be enough to block access with a password.
Opening Chrome with the desktop icon corresponding to our profile will lead the user to a login window where you need to enter the Google Account password again to access.
To let other people use Chrome you can create other users in the profile manager, among which you can choose the Guest account, which does not store anything in the history, or a supervised user .
Then go to the main menu by pressing the button at the top right with three dots, open the Settings, then, in the People section, press on " Add person ".
From the window that opens, you have to choose an image and then give a name to the new profile.
Before clicking on Add, activate the option " Check and view the websites visited by this person ".
A warning will then appear, where you must press OK, regarding supervised users, whose web browsing can be monitored and controlled.
Now the new user appears in the Chrome people list, indicating that he is supervised.
You can then close the settings and click the button with our name at the top right to open the Chrome user management menu introduced in 2015.
Alternatively, if you don't want to create users, you can simply block Chrome with a password simply an extension like Passbrow .
After downloading the extension, simply enable it to protect your browsing data and set your password.
Every time you open Chrome, you will then need to enter this password.
