Transfer files from PC and Android

Transferring files from PC to Android phone and vice versa is very easy and can be done with some applications or even without, just connecting the phone to the PC via cable.
In the latter case, via cable, the Android smartphone behaves a bit like a normal USB stick and from any computer it is possible to explore the files by opening them in a folder and using the usual drag with the mouse to copy a file from PC to Android and viceversa.
The connection via USB cable should work without any configuration, except for a notification on the phone asking to confirm the use of the device for file transfer.
The only thing to pay attention to is the USB cable used, because if everyone works to recharge the battery, not everyone is enabled for file transfer.
However, there are much more convenient ways to quickly transfer files from PC to Android or from Android to PC, using some free applications and connecting from a wifi network or via any internet connection .

1) Google Drive
In almost every Android mobile phone, the Google Drive app should be present, which can be used effectively to transfer files from PC to mobile phone and vice versa via the internet, without the need to create any connection between computer and phone.
To send the file from Android, for example a photo or a document, just open it and then use the share button to upload it to Google Drive.
To send the file from PC, however, just open the Google Drive website and upload the file which can then be re-downloaded to the phone via the Google Drive application.
NOTE: This type of approach also works great with other apps like Dropbox or Onedrive .
2) Pushbullet
Pushbullet is one of the most popular applications in the Android universe because it constantly connects the computer with the phone, so that it is quick and easy to exchange files between devices and view phone notifications on the PC.
We have seen how it works to send files with Pushbullet in another article.
3) Portal
Portal is an app of the same developers as Pushbullet, specialized in transferring files over a wifi network between different devices, without size limits.
I explained how it works and how simple it is to use in the guide on how to transfer even large files from PC to smartphone via Wifi
4) Airdroid
Airdroid is the most popular and convenient app, which I have already talked about several times, to manage the Android phone from PC in a practically complete way, which also allows you to transfer every file, address book number, message, photo and any element from the phone at the PC.
The best thing is that you do not need to install any program on your computer because access to Airdroid is done from the web browser.
5) Airmore
Airmore is a less known alternative but very similar to Airdroid and always works from the web browser to be able to use the mobile phone from the PC and also transfer files.
6) SendAnywhere
with SendAnywhere you can transfer anything via web between Android, iPhone and PC, as already explained in another article, using an ultra-fast system: you upload the file to the site and receive it from the generated link, even without using the app .
7) Sweech
Sweech is an interesting and very recent application that allows you to transfer files via direct connection between devices and also through a QR code.
8) Using a File Manager for Android
Almost all File Manager apps such as Total commander or Amaze File Manager support direct connection to the SMB service, which is that of Windows file sharing.
In practice, you can access shared folders of Windows from your Android phone and, from there, take or send files.
In addition, these apps also integrate with cloud services such as Dropbox and Google Drive.

Finally, I remember that with some types of files, Google has designed some special applications:
- Google Photos to transfer photos
- Google Play Music to synchronize music tracks.
