Youtube and children have always had a complicated relationship, a lot of attraction and a lot of passion, which can however also lead to impressing those who are more sensitive. The problem with Youtube, which all parents use to keep children good, is that often, after a chosen video, videos of dubious taste may appear, of homemade amateurs, sometimes even impressive for adults. We then move from a video with the episode of the cartoons to one with the surprises, to the one where you draw, to the one where you can see puppets or even aggressive drawings. Not to mention the advertisements that appear between one video and another, often not really suitable for children.
For this reason, Youtube has created a separate section of its website dedicated to children, Youtube Kids (now also available in Italy) with only suitable videos to be shown to children, well selected, clean and with little advertising.

Youtube Kids can be used on Android smartphones and tablets and on iPhone and iPad, by downloading the app available on the Google Play Store and iTunes respectively.
Since September 2019 Youtube Kids has also become a video website for children accessible from any PC at the internet address www.youtubekids.com/
At the first start the application asks to be configured by a parent, in order to set an access password and prevent children from using it alone, if they want. By following the wizard, you can then create the profile of the child, giving him a name and a date of birth which will then be useful to Youtube in automatically selecting the most suitable videos . You can also disable the search, making sure that those who use Youtube Kids cannot find videos other than those chosen by the parent.
Youtube Kids videos are organized into four categories, with Programs, Music, the Explore section and the Learn section. Searches are filtered for children's content only. The app also supports projection on Chromecast to watch Youtube Kids on TV. Advertising on Youtube Kids is very limited and always dedicated to children, leaving the vision free.
For parents it is possible to check the videos seen, block those that consider themselves bad and then set a watch timer, thus preventing you from seeing videos for too many hours.
Basically, if until now we have used Youtube to entertain our children, it is time to change the application.
