Save Android address book on Gmail and Google

Saving the address book of the Android phone in Google is a very important operation that allows you to keep an online copy of all the phone numbers.
In this way, even if you lose your mobile phone or if it breaks, the address book will never be lost but always recoverable.
In addition, every time you change your phone or if you use two or more smartphones, the address book will always be the same, synchronized and updated, without having to make transfers, backups or manual copies.
All your Google contacts will be visible from any Android device associated with the Google account, on the Google contacts site and also in Gmail.
While we have already seen how to transfer Android contacts and synchronize the address book using the phone settings, in this simple guide we see how to copy the numbers saved in the internal memory of the mobile phone or in the SIM card, in the address book of Google and Gmail .
First of all, you must have used a Google Account to access Android features such as the Play Store.
To make sure that synchronization is active, go to Android Settings, in the Account section and search for the Google account.
Here you will have to activate the Synchronize Contacts option.
Another important note to remember is that on an Android smartphone there are three sections : the one with the numbers saved on the SIM Card, the one saved in the internal memory and that of the Google account.
Only those saved in the Google Account are synced from the Android phone .
In phone book apps that are not Google it is possible that the numbers are not automatically saved in the Google phone book, so these may not be automatically synchronized and will be lost if that mobile phone is lost or broken.
In general, the numbers saved in the Google address book and synchronized are those with the G icon next to them, while the others are only in local memory.
Also, when saving a new phone number, you must always be sure that it is stored in Google and not in the other phone books.
To save the address book in Gmail (in the Google account) and keep all the numbers synchronized, then open the address book app on your Android phone and look for the settings.
They are usually found by pressing the button with three horizontal lines or with three dots.
You will find two important functions here: Export and import .
With Export, you save the contact list in a file on the internal memory.
Give a name to the file that is saved in .vcf format.
With Import, the contacts included in the imported .vcf file are saved in the Google address book.
By default, all contacts on the phone will automatically be synced to the Google account, so there are no further actions.
The operation to save the Android address book on Google can be done on any phone and with any contact management app, but to obtain an automatic saving of the numbers it would be better to always use the Google Contacts app which is obviously easier to use and optimized.
