Damn this Facebook, so used and so much fun but so intrusive and dangerous for privacy! You never thought that behind all the thousands of applications that can be installed there are also web applications that steal users' passwords and personal data "> defense of privacy on Facebook and on tactics for spying on private profiles I had not elaborated on the fact that profile data, including access data, can actually be read by some applications that steal personal data and make phishing (Wikipedia).
Basically some of these require absolutely unjustified permits .
Trend Micro, a major American cyber security company, has released reports on some Facebook applications that do Phishing and steal data from users who install them.
Other applications instead allow the stream (publish the flow) of their activities and make them visible to everyone thus violating the privacy set in the general security options.
Among the malicious applications reported are above all those of sentimental encounters, those to find new friends, soul mates and to compare sexual preferences or those to discover private profiles and see everyone's photos.
Mainly they are applications in English but the doubt about some translated into Italian remains all right.
The advice therefore is to go to see the settings of all authorized and installed applications, remove unnecessary and unused ones and set total privacy to those that you want to keep .
Going to the "settings" of your Facebook page then you have to go to the Apps section, and check the list of apps used with your Facebook account.
Surely you will see many who had forgotten to put and it is appropriate to clean.
To remove them just select them and then press up on remove to delete them.
For those that you want to keep instead you have to press "Change Settings" and set the privacy, at least to show the data only to friends and not to everyone.
In the additional authorizations I also recommend removing the flag under " publish recent activity on my bulletin board " and, if there was, also by " Access my data even when I am not using the application ".
With the MyPermissions browser program, you can remove apps from Facebook with too many permissions that violate privacy, by selecting them from the list.
Finally, you must also go to the general privacy settings (see the updated privacy guide) and, for the applications, decide which details of your profile to spread.
Personally I recommend not to put anything because a Facebook application has no need to know the sentimental situation or where I live or what job I do.
Finally, it is important never to forget that, if an application requires access to its profile by entering its password, one must be wary and consider the possibility of a possible phishing.
