Password protect Chrome, Firefox and IE from opening

After seeing how it is possible to password-protect the view of files, folders and programs, on a computer shared with other people (such as a PC at home) or on a laptop, it could be useful to password-protect internet browsing as well .
There are three main reasons for this choice:
1) Why don't you want to leave a child the freedom to visit any website without any checks.
2) Because a person can have all the passwords to the services on which he is registered (Google, Yahoo, Windows Live, Gmail etc.) and does not want others who use the same computer to be able to spy on private things.
3) Because maybe you don't want to show others the history of the sites you visit.
However, whatever the reason for creating a lock, the best solution is to set up, on a Windows PC, an account for each person who uses the computer so everyone will have their own personalized internet settings, with their own favorites and saved passwords. on your profile.
In case you don't want to do this and you prefer a free PC, with only one access, even without a password or if you need a temporary lock to activate if necessary, let's see how to create a password for access to Internet browsers. Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome .
1) With Internet Explorer there is no possibility to protect the browser when opening the program comfortably.
In fact, I have not found free blocking programs that work in such a way as to present a password request when you start the Microsoft browser.
Instead, what you can do with Internet Explorer is to use a security function built into the program that asks for the password at the beginning, but also asks for it every time you visit a new website .
Going to Tools -> Internet Options -> Content tab you can press the " Activate " button which is under the heading " Verified Content ".
On the next screen, you have to go to the General tab where you can set the password.
As you can see, in the other tabs you can make the list of free sites or you can set the classification systems of the sites according to their danger.
When Internet Explorer starts, you are asked to enter your password, write it down and then you can choose whether to always allow the visit of that website or if only on this occasion.
This protection is therefore valid above all to create a personalized limitation of websites that can be browsed and is useful if you want to protect a child from dangerous sites.
In another article I have written more effective methods to protect not only children but also ourselves from the dangers of the internet.
2) With Firefox you can have a much more flexible and useful system.
In firefox there is already the possibility of being able to password protect the logins to the various sites whose credentials have been saved in the browser with the "remember" function.
Going to Tools -> Options -> Security tab, you can select the main password that protects all the others stored to enter e-mail, Facebook or other sites with login.
Passwords are part of the Firefox Sync function which allows you to recover them also on other computers.
3) With Google Chrome you can lock your personal profile with a password as explained in another guide.
In fact, with the Browser Locker extension you add a component that can be managed from Tools -> Extensions -> Chrome Lock that allows you to set a password.
After closing Chrome, at the next reopening, you will be asked for this password.
To lock and unlock the browser, you can press the key combination Ctrl-Shift-L .
