Hide from the online advertisements of Google, Facebook and Youtube

The privacy issue is certainly the most current and heard issue regarding the internet.
In other articles we have seen how to configure Firefox options to have privacy when browsing the internet (see also the privacy options with Chrome and privacy on Internet Explorer) but any configuration may be useless if it is true (and unfortunately it is) that some websites overcome browser restrictions and still capture information (anonymously) by tracking it for commercial purposes.
To improve the situation and protect yourself against the invasions of advertising agencies on the internet, the best solution is the use of some plugins that allow you not to be tracked online by the sites by blocking the collection of personal data .
Only for Firefox there is an excellent extension that allows you to block websites such as Google, Facebook, Bing, Youtube and Yahoo in their attempt to track user data and clicks.
Privacy Badger for Chrome and Firefox is an add-on specialized in blocking the tracking of the most popular sites in the world.
As you can understand from the name, this add-on was created to protect itself from the intrusiveness of Google and Facebook and other sites in recording internet browsing habits.
Privacy Badget becomes important for Facebook, to hide its activity from the internal algorithm of the social network.
After its installation, it duplicates the links on these sites and allows the user to choose whether to click on the traceable link or to browse privately.
The basic idea is therefore to remove the click detection functionality.
It is worth noting that this is only a basic defense because sites can continue to track users' movements on the internet through other technologies anyway.
However, if you use Firefox and are not a privacy observer, this add-on significantly raises the level of protection.
After installing the extension, you must restart the browser and navigate on Google or Facebook to notice the presence of a double link under each item.
The verse icons indicate the secure links while the red ones are tracked by the site.
By entering the add-on options, some settings can be changed, whether or not enabling control on the various sites indicated.
There are advanced options which, if enabled, can cause Google Facebook and other upload errors.
Problems can also arise by placing the cross on Block All links which, can cause malfunctions especially for Facebook and Youtube sites.
I still remember that, to have total privacy, in general, the safest way is that of programs to surf anonymously on the internet while the most practical one are the anti-tracking plugins mentioned above.
Finally, it may be interesting to note that Internet Explorer is, surprisingly, the most private browser if monitoring protection and the smartscreen filter are enabled.
Continuing the discussion, the new Ghostery plugin for Firefox and Chrome is very interesting. This is another add-on that allows you to watch, in real time, those who keep track of your browsing data for behavioral targeting purposes. Whenever the plugin detects data sent to a tracker it is marked in red if it is an advertiser and in gray if it is a website, the links between the two are colored blue.
Browsing on some famous sites like Corriere or Repubblica or even normal blogs, you can see how many red dots are there. I am happy to see that Navigaweb.net is detected neutral, without tracer connections and completely safe for visitors' privacy.
On this occasion, I take this opportunity to say that Google has changed its privacy and from March 1 will begin to use user history data for its commercial purposes.
If you are not happy with this, you can log in to your Google account, go to where " Web History " is written, under Services, and delete and disable it.
