Automatic Airplane mode at set times (iPhone / Android)

The mobile phone industry has created a thing called " Airplane mode ", also called offline mode, which should be used when boarding an airplane.
This mode disables any transmission of network signals, including Wifi, however allowing you to use your smartphone in other ways.
In reality, then, when boarding an airplane, flight attendants ask everyone to turn off completely, during take-off, every electronic device, including laptops, iPods, iPhones, cellphones and tablets.
This is because they can interfere with the transmission of the aircraft's signal and, even if the probability is minimal, it is always better not to take risks also because there is no evidence to the contrary.
Airplane mode, however, remains an important feature of smartphones and should not be used only when boarding an airplane but also to put the phone in energy saving mode, without disturbing .
As explained in another article, the mobile phone must never be turned off because the smartphone is made to always stay on and the turning off is not required (otherwise the alarm does not work, for example).
What you do is put it in Airplane mode so as to have a minimum consumption of energy when it is not used (even in the theater, at the cinema, in lessons etc.) and also not to be disturbed at night while resting.
In this article we then see how to put Airplane mode at night automatically and how to reactivate cell phone services during the day, when you wake up, always automatically.

Then on iPhone there is no way to activate and deactivate Airplane mode automatically, unless it is unlocked with Jailbreak (see how to Jailbreak an iPhone).
In Cydia you can find, the AirplaneScheduler application that allows you to put Airplane mode at the time you want and automatically remove it to another set time.
The application is paid and costs about 1.5 USD.
For iPhone not unlocked there are no other applications available and the only solution to get closer to Airplane mode is to use the Do Not Disturb function that was introduced in iOS6.
You can then program the automatic activation of Do not disturb at specific times in the iPhone settings, such as between 24:00 and 7:00, to avoid receiving calls or notifications for messages.
In reality, however, energy savings will be minimal because the mobile phone still remains with active connections, including the internet connection; only that every notification is muted .
On Android there are some applications to activate Airplane mode automatically, also according to the days of the week.
For example, you can use Auto Airplane Mode to automate Airplane mode on specific days and choose different times on the weekend (requires root access though).
