In Italy internet connections generally make you cry (not to say another unprofessional word that starts with C). The problem is that, even those who already have internet, are not always able to download files with adequate speed or to watch videos and movies streaming in a fluid and fast way.
For many people, talking about fast internet is more of a hope than a reality and there are many cases of interruptions, of slowdowns at certain times of the day and of a medium-low speed in general, certainly not as you could expect and how it was promised by the telephone company.
Already in another article I had explained how internet speed is measured by reporting the usual speedtest service, explaining the various units of measurement and the reasons for discrepancies and differences with respect to the theoretical speeds promised.
To make things even easier and clearer, the streaming movie site Netflix has released a new website called Fast.com which measures the maximum download speed for our internet connection . In this way you can understand, from the detected speed, how well you can see videos and movies streamed from Netflix and also from Youtube or other similar sites .
By trying to open the Fast.com site at various times of the day, always making sure that you do not have downloads in progress or programs that are downloading such as Torrent or Emule, you can check how the connection speed varies and if it suffers at certain times . In the end, for streaming videos and videos in low resolution, the minimum download speed must be 3 Mbps (Megabit per second).
For HD viewing it must be at least 5 Mbps while for Ultra HD quality we have to go up to 25 Mbps.
On Fast.com you can also click the link that leads to Speedtest.net to make a comparison and check if there are differences in detection.
Another new and very effective test is that of the Sourceforge site, which in addition to the download speed also measures the latency, the upload and the loss of packets on the street which tells us a lot about the quality of the internet connection
