The most listened to music in the last 60 years divided by genres in Google Music

Google has recently published a really nice and very interesting web page for all music lovers of all time.
It is a visualization tool that, using aggregated Google Play Music data, shows us the history of music in an interactive graphic and, in particular, which have been the most listened to and the most popular music genres of the last 60 years .
Not only is it possible to look at which albums of the past are still listened to today, but you can also search for specific artists or albums to see their story, see the entire discography with all the covers and listen to their music.
The site is Music Timeline and just scroll the mouse over the various musical genres to see, below, the most representative artists of that genre.
The historical graph refers, obviously, to the American music market and in fact it is seen that in the 50s the most listened music was that of Jazz.
This view shows which albums of past eras are still listened to today and allows you to find key artists of all kinds to read their stories, and listen to their music.
For example, by clicking on the Metal genre, you can see the popularity trend of this type of music over the years and the most popular artists who made up each subgenre.
In the upper right corner you can search for the graph relating to the trend of popularity for a single artist and you can search, for example, U2 to see when the BonoVox group was more fashionable.
By placing the mouse cursor on rock, for example, you can see the best rock albums in history.
Each album can be opened on Google Play Music and the songs can be previewed and purchased.
I take the opportunity of this article to remember the recent updates of some of the most used online music services in the world, which have opened their archives for free listening.
I am referring in particular to Spotify now free and without limits .
