iTunes for PC and Mac is now only a music program

Without too much emphasis, Apple has released a new version of the iTunes program for Windows PCs, which finally becomes a decent and functional program for listening to music on the computer.
For years iTunes, especially on Windows, has always remained one of the most uncomfortable programs to use ever, for the amount of things it included in its interface and for its synchronization setting that automatically copied music to iPhone, iPod or iPad, even if it wasn't wanted.
And if before you could use iTunes on PC or Mac to install, remove and update applications on iPhone and iPad, today this is no longer possible because the latest version, 12.10, is only focused on music and, above all, it is only available as an app for Windows 10.
The result is that of a lighter program than before, easier to use and certainly more useful than before, so much so that I can recommend downloading iTunes even to those who do not use an iPhone, simply to use it as a music program .
From version 12.10, therefore, iTunes no longer has the App Store and no longer has the function to insert ringtones on the iPhone .
iTunes disappears on the Mac from the Catalina version, replaced by three separate applications: Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Podcast.
The iTunes for Windows program is no longer supported and iTunes can only be downloaded as an app for Windows 10
Applications can now only be downloaded and updated from the App Store, while ringtones can be added to the iPhone from the sound settings on iOS. From the menu at the top left of iTunes it is possible to go to the different sections of the program: Music, Movies, Audiobooks, TV programs and Podcasts.
From the File menu you can indicate the folder with mp3 files or other formats for the music stored on the PC, so you can see the titles on iTunes and organize playlists for listening on PC. The menu at the top center allows you to switch from PC Music to the Apple Music streaming service, listen to online radios offered by iTunes and open the Store, where you can buy albums or singles. Apple Music can still be disabled in the settings (from the Edit menu > Preferences ). The Store can also be deactivated on iTunes from the menu Edit> Preferences> Restrictions ), to let the program work only to manage and listen to your own music, the one already saved on your computer.
iTunes therefore works as a classic free music player for the computer, which also allows you to use an equalizer and to use a comfortable Miniplayer mode to keep it open while working or doing something else (from the View menu). iTunes is also convenient for sharing music from a computer so that you can also listen to it from other PCs or Macs, thanks to the Sharing Preferences.
Only now can we then put iTunes in the list of the best programs to listen to music on the PC
ITunes for PC and Mac can be downloaded from the Apple website .
For those who lack the functions of iTunes on the app, synchronization and backup, there are other alternative programs to iTunes to manage iPhone and iPad from the PC
