Send Mail from Gmail with another email address

In Gmail, as is also the case in Yahoo Mail and Hotmail, it is possible to port the old e-mail address in order to use the precious and powerful functions of the Google Mail mail service, without having to change the address . This happens thanks to the ability to set up a personalized sender that allows you to use Gmail to send messages with another of the email address .
With Gmail it is therefore possible to make sure that the mails sent have an email address other than @ gmail.com as the sender and, at the same time, it is possible to receive the mail that still arrives at that address, in Gmail . This possibility also leads to a painless and simple change of e-mail address, without any need to warn everyone of the change and without them noticing.

As I see it, if you still use online mail services such as Libero, Alice, virgilio, tiscali or any other, a migration to one between Gmail, Outlook.com and Yahoo Mail is recommended.
Why Use Gmail "> settings from the gear wheel at the top right, look for the Account and Imports section and then add the alternative address where it is written Send message as:
The address must also really exist because Gmail will send a message to that address to confirm ownership. Before sending the verification, you can choose whether to use the Gmail serves to send the messages (simpler and recommended) or whether to use a different SMTP server (only for corporate or professional clearance accounts that have this need). After confirming the alternative address, you can decide whether to use it as the main address by clicking where it is written set as default .
You can also click on the option Always reply from the default address so as to use that email address always, also in response to messages sent to other addresses, always in Gmail.
Going to compose a new message will appear, at the top, in the From: field, a drop-down menu where you can choose which address to send the email with and the first choice will be the one set as the default address. For more information on adding a custom sender address, you can read the complete guide.
If you were to choose to use the old address in Gmail, in addition to sending messages from the old mail address, you must also receive the mail sent to the old address on the Gmail web interface .
To do this, in the Account and Import menu, you must indicate the Email account where it is written Check mail with POP3:
When adding the account to receive messages in Gmail, you must specify the username and password used to access the old mailbox and then you must write the POP3 server name and port. Gmail automatically suggests the correct pop3 server name but if you need to, you can consult this list.
Once the configuration is complete, all messages received in that mailbox will arrive in Gmail. By selecting the Leave a copy of the downloaded message on the server option, each email received will be transferred to Gmail but not deleted in the old account (which however risks filling up if it is one of those with limited space).
As a final result, if I had an email address of the type and wanted to transfer everything to Gmail without changing the address, I could set up the Alice account to send messages with my old address and to receive the mail in Gmail always . Who will receive my messages will not notice any change and will continue to write to me and receive my emails from
If you wanted, you could do the whole import of all messages from the old account to Gmail using the Import messages and contacts: option which is always in the same Account and import section.
If you need to distinguish the messages received on the other email address from those received in Gmail, you can create a filter in Gmail.
Finally, the same thing is possible to send mail from another email address using Google Apps which has the same settings as Gmail and also using Yahoo Mail or with Hotmail of which I had written a guide Sign up for Outlook without changing your Email address.
