Create the font with your handwriting to write on the computer "by hand

In the first part of this double post, we talked about how to find the font from an image or from other identification sites.
All the fonts that can be downloaded, almost always by buying them, correspond however to graphic styles already made by others.
If, on the other hand, you want to create your own custom font with your own handwriting, you can use free web applications that also allow you to download the new font and use it as you wish, even for writing on Word.
Using the font derived from your own calligraphy will give you the opportunity to write on the computer as if you were writing by hand on a sheet of paper, in pen .
In the past I had written about some tools to create a custom font for video writing .
This time instead we see how to create the new font on the computer using your own handwriting and write on the PC "by hand", in the same style that you would have writing with the pen on a sheet of paper.
1) YourFonts is a very simple web application with which you can send e-mail messages via Email written with your own handwriting .
After watching the YouTube video that explains how it works, you have to press the "Write by Hand" button at the top and then register for free with an Email address, by clicking on "Create Account".
Then you have to press the arrow to the right and get to the screen that has a black and white grid.
This grid must be printed by pressing the button below with the form of a printer.
Once the sheet is obtained, the characters must be written by hand with a black pen, one by one, inside the grid, in correspondence with the marked characters, including the upper and lower case letters, the numbers and punctuation marks.
In the end, after having written well on the sheet with your own handwriting, you go on with the procedure that asks you to "show him" the written sheet.
To upload your writing you can use a scanner or a webcam or a digital camera.
For example, if you choose to use the webcam by clicking on the relative symbol, you must put the sheet in front of the camera and take the photo following the procedure of the site.
If you use the camera also on your mobile phone, you have to take a photo of the written sheet, upload the image to the computer in Jpeg format and then upload it to the site.
You have to follow the wizard from the right menu which lists the various stages of the creation of the font:
- Print the sheet to be written;
- Write the characters as illustrated by the image of the second passage;
- Scan the sheet and upload the image on the site;
- Watch the preview and, if you like, download the font and install it on any Windows, Linux or Mac pc.
In the end he does everything by himself and after processing the sheet it will be possible to write to the PC with his own handwriting to send an Email to someone .
If desired, you can write and then capture with a screenshot the handwritten message on the computer, to print it or to use it in other parts, as an image.
The big advantage is that you can download the font with your own handwriting to be able to use it in Word or in other programs.
2) Fontifier allows you to create the computer font identical to your own calligraphy .
Here too, just print the sheet, fill it in pen by writing the letters one by one, scan the sheet and upload it to the site.
You can immediately see the preview and then you can download the font to be installed on your computer for 9 Euros.
3) Calligraphr is free and allows you to create a new font with your own calligraphy.
To do this, you need to print the model provided, hand write the letters of the alphabet one by one and then scan the sheet and reload it on the site.
The new font can be saved in TTF format that can be used on any Windows program, including Word, to write with your own calligraphy on your computer.
The font is created by writing first on a sheet which will then be scanned and uploaded to the site.
the TrueType font file will be ready for download, for installation on your computer, ready for use.
