Upload DVDs to Youtube by dividing the videos into multiple parts

After shooting a video with the camera or mobile phone, you upload it directly to YouTube or Facebook to share it with friends or simply to keep it online.
A few years ago, however, things were very different.
A copy of the recorded video was made on a videotape or on a DVD to be delivered to the relative or friend with whom the video was shared.
We have already written the guide to bring a videotape to your computer, as well as we have reported the best programs to convert a DVD into a Divx or MP4 video.
Now let's see the fastest way to upload a DVD video to YouTube, quickly and without worries.
This guide can also be useful for those who want to upload videos longer than 15 minutes, thus exceeding the Youtube limit.
As a best program to copy the video of a DVD to your computer, I recommend Handbrake, a free software, very easy to use, that must be installed on a Windows PC.
When the program starts, you can insert the DVD in the computer player and then you have to choose the Video_TS folder of the DVD as the source, press Ctrl + T (or choose File -> Enque ) and add all the titles displayed, or just some, for video conversion.
The default conversion settings are already adapted for the next upload of the video on the internet so there is no need to change anything.
Just press the " Encode " button to start the conversion process which could take several minutes, depending on the processing power of the computer and the duration of the DVD video.
To copy long DVDs to your computer in even protected DVD5 formats, refer to another guide.
Once the video file is saved on the computer, you can go to Youtube to upload it to the streaming portal.
YouTube, by default, does not accept videos longer than 15 minutes (you can actually enable the upload of long videos for free by raising the duration limit ) so, if the DVD is longer, you need to divide the movie into various parts more small .
As a program to divide a video of any type, on Windows, you can use MP4box, light and free.
With MP4Box you can easily organize your video sequence, unifying (Join) or dividing (Split) the various parts, each with a well-defined duration.
After dividing the video into parts of 15 minutes each, you can access YouTube and upload them using the online tool which works very well and is fast.
Then click on the " Upload Video " button on YouTube, press the Shift key, select all the clips in one go and upload all the videos together .
After having brought the DVD to YouTube in 15 minutes long parts each, you have to connect them together so, when the first clip ends, you can go directly to the second part, and so on until the end.
To create the sequence of videos you can use the Youtube annotations function.
Then open the first video clip in the Annotation editor (or, while playing the streaming video, press the "+" icon) and insert a comic that points to the next part of the movie.
Repeat this with all the various parts of the video.
If this of the annotations turns out to be a somewhat complicated feature, to put the various parts of the long video in a row, you can use the playlist function of Youtube .
Thanks to the playlist, you can watch a movie divided into parts, all together, consecutively and automatically, without ever changing the page.
