Enable and disable your computer's USB ports with one click

Enabling and disabling the USB sockets of a computer is simply to prevent strangers from inserting their USB which may have a virus or to prevent someone from taking files from the computer.
Clearly this problem can only be had if you use a laptop in the office or an open space such as at university or at a conference.
To enable and disable the USB ports there are various ways but in this article I suggest a really easy easy one.
It is about using a small program that allows, with a click, to enable or disable the USB devices individually .
In particular, storage devices can be managed, that is, simple USB sticks or external hard drives so that, even by inserting one, it is never recognized.
In addition there are also options to disable the printer, scanner and audio devices.
This discussion is different from that relating to the deactivation of the autorun of a USB stick, i.e. the process of automatic loading of the files found inside a USB stick .
Autorun.inf is a very vulnerable file that often contains viruses and therefore should always be disabled to prevent a friend or colleague from inadvertently infecting the PC.
To enable and disable the USB ports you can then use USB Manager which allows you to manage the USB ports of the printer, USB sticks and scanner separately, with a single click to enable or disable them.
During installation, be careful not to install sponsor programs by removing the cross from all options and continuing.
After installing it, an icon to right click to perform the enable or disable appears near the clock at the bottom right.
Among the options you can decide if this program should be started with Windows and if you want to disable a USB device via hotkeys or key combinations.
Alternatively, you can use Intelliadmin's Disable_USB tool which instead enables or disables all USB ports together, without selection.
All this can also be done through registry keys but it is more inconvenient and more complicated therefore it is better to use external programs.
Another excellent program recently released is Phrozen Safe USB which allows you to activate and deactivate the USB connected to a storage (external drive or USB stick) in just one click.
The tool can be used by clicking the icon near the clock and choosing between the three options, activate, deactivate and read-only mode which means you can see but not edit the files in the USB stick.
