Access to Wi-Fi networks with the Facebook app to connect to the internet around

The Facebook app for Android and iPhone has a nice novelty that allows you to connect to the internet, when we are out and about, by accessing wifi networks near us
In this way it is possible to check if it is possible to save data traffic by accessing the internet through the wifi of a bar, a hotel or any shop.
This is a very useful function when going around, especially because it is very punctual and very precise, based on sharing companies.

To use this new Facebook function, you need to open the application and then go to the Other menu, by touching the icon on the top right next to the notification icon on Android or the icon on the bottom right on iPhone.
From the list of all Facebook functions, go to the App, press on Show all and locate Find Wi-fi .
Facebook will ask to activate the Find Wi-fi and, subsequently, will present a list of the internet access points closest to the position where we are, showing us the name of the shop and the name of the wifi network that should be found.
By tapping the map button you can see the internet access points so you can easily find where they are.
Two things are important to note.
First of all, the Facebook app only lists the Wi-Fi networks that the stores have chosen to share on Facebook, so you won't find all the access points, but only the reported ones.
In addition, activating the Wifi Finder will also automatically activate the location history
We have seen in another article what it means to position history in Facebook, talking about the function of "friends nearby".
Basically Facebook stores the places we go to at all times and the list of places detected by the application is visible, only to us, in the activity log.
If you don't want this automatic detection, then you can't use the Find Wifi.
To disable Facebook's location history, open the app, go to More> Account settings> Location .
Don't forget that you can still use other Apps to find free Wifi and free wireless networks around wherever you go.
Finally, I remember all the precautions to surf safely from open free networks, which by their nature can leak our private information to its manager if you do not pay proper attention.
