10 easy ways to use and try Linux from Windows on your computer

Many people, rightly curious, are interested in trying and using the Linux operating system to see if it is better than Windows or not.
Linux differs from Windows because it is a differently programmed operating system, which is managed and used in a different way and which, above all, is opensource, highly customizable and free for everyone.
There are many versions of Linux or, better, distributions that differ from one another for graphics, for desktop management, for installed programs and other things.
The most famous distribution of all is Linux Ubuntu but there are also many other famous, functional and easy to use distros whose names are Fedora, Mint, Slackware, Mandriva.
To try Linux and use it as if it were an independent Windows program, there are several ways at the same time and here we see 10 of them, the simplest so that the most interested can do their experiments, tests and play them, so they can't do damage, without compromising the computer and never restarting it.
It is therefore not a question of doing a dual boot or of installing Linux on the same PC where Windows is and choosing, at the start of the PC, which system to start.
In short, having Windows up and running, we can use and try Linux in the following ways:
Using a virtual pc (see what it means to create a virtual pc).
1) Moba LiveCD is a system that uses an emulator called QEMU to start Live CD or Live USB images (which in general should be started at boot), directly from the Windows desktop .
This Moba LiveCD is really easy to use and affordable for everyone.
It functions as a portable application (which must not be installed and copied to an external hard disk) and also offers an integration menu in which you can quickly choose, with the right mouse button, which image to start, in the in case you want to try many Linux distributions together.
2) Portable Ubuntu Remix is a portable Windows program whose function is to start Linux Ubuntu as if it were a normal application.
This software package allows you to start an Ubuntu operating environment that works within Windows, preferably to be copied to an 8GB or 16GB USB stick, if you plan to use it regularly.
3) VirtualBox is my favorite software to create virtual PCs also because it is free and from the VirtualboxImages.com website you can download ready-made installations to start inside Virtual Box .
Of course, you can download the LiveCD ISO files, mount them virtually, and sit in anticipation of a tedious installation process but since every VirtualBox installation is a file, why do it all over again "> VMWare Player is the other famous computer creation program virtual., this time, the site to download Linux distributions to start in VMware, without having to install them from scratch, is called VMware Images which also contains numerous news and the latest releases.
To find operating systems, you need to choose the relative category so as not to look for it in the midst of many virtualized programs that do not interest us.
5) KDE for Windows is a program that allows you to use programs developed for Linux on Windows .
It is not really a real Linux use but only an application emulator.
Using a USB stick
6 -7) Fedora LiveUSB Creator, UNetbootin and other programs for Linux Live are able to create a ready installation of many Linux distributions, to start them at the start of the PC, from a USB stick.
Useless therefore to burn a CD, in other articles we have seen how to install Linux Puppy (the smallest operating system in circulation) and Ubuntu on a USB stick.
8) LiLi (ex uSbuntu Live Creator) is similar to UnetBootin only that allows you to install Linux on a USB stick so that it is then started from VirtualBox, without therefore having to restart the computer.
9) Wubi is the program that allows you to start and use Linux Ubuntu from Windows, as if it were a program and refer to the related post to read about its features, its operation and how easy it is to use.
Even the famous and beautiful Mint distribution can be started by Wubi.
Once you have chosen the tool, the best software for testing with Linux, you need to download the Linux distributions to install .
In another article there is the list of the best free Linux distributions to be installed on the computer for any need.
Just say which of these methods you like best, which is easier and if I forgot a few then if you like using Linux, leaving and abandoning Windows would certainly not be a crime.
