Facebook has finally made a right one, thinking also of us poor users, who do not have luxury smartphones and who want the lightest apps possible, both on the phone's RAM memory and on the internal space. After the light version of the Facebook app, the light and essential version of the Messenger has also come out, very useful for those who do not want the normal Facebook Messenger app which is always so heavy, which consumes battery and takes up a lot of space.
The new application is called Messenger Lite and is only for Android .
It is a version of Messenger that offers only the basic functions of Facebook chat, without all those accessory functions such as phone calls.
With Messenger Lite, you can stay in Facebook chat regardless of the network conditions or space limitations that afflict some Android smartphones.
From 2018 it is also possible to make video calls via Messenger Lite.
From April 2017 Messenger Lite for Android can be downloaded directly from the Google Play Store .
Messenger Lite is an app with a size less than 10 MB, quick to install and update, which starts very quickly and occupies only about 4 MB of RAM remaining in the background.
The Messenger Lite app, which appears in the list of apps with the name Lite, includes the basic functions of the Messenger chat and, therefore, sending messages, receiving photos and links and receiving stickers.
In the settings you can decide how to receive notifications of new messages.
Personally, even if I don't have a poor smartphone, I installed it because it is very light and I was finally able to remove the main Messenger app which is always the most responsible for discharging the battery and among the biggest apps.
However, it is still possible to use, with or without Messenger Lite, the Facebook Lite app which also works to receive and send messages on the chat.
