I don't know if this "trick" is already known or if it is a recent novelty, however, it is now possible to upload videos longer than 15 minutes on Youtube, without having to break them and without having to make cuts. In another article I had written how to load DVD on Youtube, however, always considering the limit of 15 minutes.
Unfortunately, videos uploaded to the internet using Youtube are deleted both if they exceed the limit, and if, for some errors, the site cannot detect the length of the video even if it was shorter than the 15 minutes allowed.
Now you can remove this limit and upload long videos simply by checking your mobile phone number on Youtube .
The mobile phone number, on the internet, should not be disseminated on the internet but is required as an identity verification tool when registering an account on Google, Facebook and also on Youtube.
There is no fear for privacy as the number provided is only for identity verification and will never be used to send advertising messages or for market research.
Telephone verification is free and simply serves to avoid the same user from registering multiple accounts
After logging into YouTube with the registered account, you can click on the additional information from the right pane " upload large files"> page indicating the limits of the videos that can be uploaded to Youtube.
It can therefore be read that all users can upload videos for a maximum duration of 15 minutes unless:
- the account has a good reputation;
- check your account with a mobile phone.
In short, to enable Youtube to upload videos with no length limit, simply go to this verification page, www.youtube.com/my_videos_upload_verify, choose Italy as the country, write your mobile phone number and click on Send.
After a very short time an SMS should arrive on the phone with a 6-digit code to be entered in the space on the confirmation page and press the Verify button.
At the end, on Youtube, in the Video Upload page, you should read the words: " Congratulations. Now your account is enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes. Click the Upload button below to select a video ".
You can then upload videos of unlimited length, provided that the file is no larger than 20 GB and as long as it is a video for which you have broadcast rights.
YouTube strictly prohibits, under penalty of suspension of the account, the publication of videos in violation of copyright.
YouTube is always the top of the video sharing sites also because it is always free (Vimeo you pay if you want to upload a long video) and very fast in uploads.
